LION STEEL SDN BHD

Lion Steel Sdn Bhd, a member of Lion Group, is the first integrated steel mill in Malaysia to produce flat steel products with a capacity of 3.2 million tonnes of hot rolled coils and 1.45 million tonnes of cold rolled coils per annum. It is located on a 500-acre site in Banting, Selangor. The mill is approximately 1.3 km long with a built-up area of 1.3 million square feet.

Lion Steel is in close proximity to the Klang Valley where 70% of the nation's consumers of hot rolled coils are located. Its strategic location near Port Klang helps to facilitate exports and lower transportation costs for the import of raw materials and export of finished coils. With a capacity of 3.2 million tonnes per annum, Lion Steel's production helps to substitute imports and yield substantial foreign exchange savings.

With the growing emphasis on Industry 4.0 and introduction of new technologies using data and machine learning namely Internet of Things (IoT) and artificial intelligence, Lion Steel will harness these smart systems to reinvent and upgrade its business processes and workflow, and re-align its business strategies to face challenges and seize opportunities.
