50th Merdeka Celebrations To commemorate our 50th National Day celebrations and the call to fly the Jalur Gemilang, Megasteel Sdn Bhd distributed the flags to the schools in its vicinity. This year, Megasteel also presented giant flags to the schools. On 13 August 2007, Megasteel staff presented the flags to Sekolah Kebangsaan Bukit Tadom, Sekolah Kebangsaan Rancangan Tanah Belia and Sekolah Kebangsaan Labohan Dagang. Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Bukit Changgang and Sekolah Kebangsaan Olak Lempit received their flags on 16 August 2007 with Sekolah Kebangsaan Bukit Changgang on 17 August 2007. It was a memorable Merdeka Day for 43 Silverstone Berhad staff who participated in the 50th Merdeka Day parade organised by the Larut and Matang Districts at Taiping Esplanade Field. Other contingents that participated in the parade were from the Government departments, schools, societies and the private sector in Taiping. Our operating companies too flew the Jalur Gemilang at their premises, as always.
