Encik Abu Hashim assessing one of the participants' driving competency. | A one-day refresher course on Competence Forklift Driving & Safety Skills was held on 9 June 2009. All forklift drivers in Antara are required to attend a refresher course every two years in order to renew their Forklift License.
The session was conducted by Encik Abu Hashim who is a certified Forklift Assessor from the Transport Training Center in Adelaide, Australia and has been conducting numerous training and assessment courses for NIOSH throughout Malaysia.
Participants were tested on the theoretical aspects and their driving skills. The driving test was very stringent as the participants had to drive through an obstacles course, perform tight figures, manage the load while moving forward and during reversing, pick up some loads for unloading at different stacking height. |
