The Lion Group Medical Assistance Fund (LGMAF) presented a mock cheque for RM447,626 to Pusat Perubatan Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (PPUKM) on 12 May 2009 for 51 of its patients who had been assisted by the Fund in year 2008. These patients suffered from various ailments such as heart disease, autoimmune disease, cancer, throat and respiratory related ailments, including a few in need of knee and hip implants.
LGMAF Chairman, Jen Tan Sri Dato’ Zain Mahmud Hashim (b) presented the mock cheque to the Hospital Director, Prof. Dato’ Dr Lokman Saim. A few of the sponsored patients were also present to witness the event.
Todate the Fund has disbursed a total of RM4.75 million being sponsorship of medical treatment to about 561 individuals, and purchase of medical equipment for several charitable organisations. |
