In conjunction with Parkson’s 21st Anniversary, Parkson stores in Selayang and Rawang launched the Selayang Chapter of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme with the adoption of Laman Beringin in Taman Selayang Jaya on 3 November 2008.
The event was officiated by Selangor State Tourism, Consumer Affairs and Environment Committee Chairman, Ms Elizabeth Wong. Also present at the event were Selayang Municipal Council Deputy Secretary, Encik Johari Ahmad and Parkson’s General Manager, Mr Lee Kong Huat.
Laman Beringin is the eighth park adopted by Parkson under its My Park programme. Over 50 staff volunteered their time to clean, paint and repair equipment and benches in the park. Parkson also installed three sets of picnic tables, a Gym-Bar, a swing and contracted patch-up work for the cracked concrete floor. |
