On 4 July 2008, the Lion Group Medical Assistance Fund (LGMAF) presented a mock cheque for RM304,610 to Pusat Perubatan Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (PPUKM) for 36 of its patients who suffered from various ailments such as heart disease, cancer, leukemia, including a few in need of knee and hip implants sponsored by the Fund last year.
LGMAF Chairman and Lion Group Director, Jen (B) Tan Sri Dato’ Zain Mahmud Hashim presented the mock cheque to the Hospital Director, Prof. Dato’ Dr. Lokman Saim. A few of the sponsored patients were also present to witness the event.
LGMAF also contributed two units of dialysis machines worth RM 80,000 to National Kidney Foundation (NKF) dialysis centre in Permas Jaya, Johor. Senior Manager of Parkson Holiday Plaza, Mr Lim Piah Chong handed over the Fund’s contribution to NKF. |

Todate the Fund has disbursed a total of RM3.9 million being sponsorship of medical treatment and purchase of medical equipment, to about 501 individuals and several charitable organisations.
