| Our Group renewed its sponsorship of RM21,000 for ‘Champ’, an African lion at Zoo Negara for another year. The sponsorship covers feeding, medication and maintenance expenses for the lion and has been on-going since 1996. This is part of the Group’s community relations programme which includes efforts to preserve our wildlife.
Lion-Parkson Foundation Chairman, Puan Sri Chelsia Cheng presented the sponsorship to the Director of Zoo Negara, Dr. Mohamad Ngah at the zoo on 6 January 2009.
Todate, Lion-Parkson Foundation has contributed a total of RM15.5 million to education and charitable causes. This includes scholarships and educational loans worth RM7.3 million for about 350 students since the Foundation’s inception. Another community project by the Lion Group is the Lion Group Medical Assistance Fund that provides financial assistance to needy Malaysians seeking medical treatment. |
